and understanding in Israel and Palestine"

You’re invited to come and listen to

Daphne Banai and Taghrid Shbita who will be discussing

"Working toward peace, justice and understanding in Israel and Palestine"


The two women will talk about the alliances they 
each have formed to build a process whereby 
Israelis and Palestinians work together towards 
peace, justice, and understanding leading to real 
security for all the peoples in the region.

Taghrid is a Palestinian citizen of Israel living 
in Tira, an Arab town.  She is a human rights 
lawyer and former candidate to the Knesset for 
HADASH.  Taghrid will use her own story to 
elucidate the situation of Palestinian citizens of Israel.

Daphne Banai is a Jewish Israeli living in Tel 
Aviv.  She is the coordinator for Machsom 
(checkpoint) Watch, a group of over 400 Jewish 
Israeli women who volunteer to monitor check 
points throughout the West Bank. There will be an 
interactive presentation to explore the realities 
of occupation and the important work of Machsom Watch.
