The Pan-Afrikan Student Collective (P.A.S.C) seeks the assistance and support of the city of Los Angeles to join the movement to Free the San Francisco 8. On January 23, 2007 former members and affiliates of the Black Panther Party were rounded up and rearrested under accusations of involvement in a 1971 police shooting for which they had previously been exonerated. The evening will begin with a viewing of the documentary "Legacy of Torture, chronicling the initial 1973 arrest of the SF8 and the methods used to extract confessions. A strategy session will follow with efforts to create the building of a mass movement. Fellow organizers include: Phyllis Boudreaux, wife of one of the imprisoned brothers and Deacon Alexander, former Black Panther Party member. Refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
