Women's History Museum Event August 26th Join us for a parade and free ice cream! Women's Equality Day August 26th A celebration of Suffrage Day From noon to 4pm in Balboa Park Event Sponsors: Women's History Musuem United Nations Association, Women's Equity Council, League of Women Voters, Planned Parenthood, National Organization of Women, Mr. Ice Cream Man Join us at noon at the Kate Sessions statue located at the Laurel Street Bridge entrance to Balboa Park. Dress in historical clothing (white dresses with purple and gold sash). Parade across the bridge to an ice cream social in the park and the screening of "Iron Jawed Angels" in room 103 of Casa del Prado. Suffrage Day Celebration Sunday August 26 Noon to 4pm Balboa Park Meet at the Kate Session Statue, 6th and Laurel Street Bridge entrance to the park. Parade across the bridge for an ice cream social and film screening. Join community leaders and activists as we recognize and celebrate the successful struggle for women to win the right to vote in the Unites States. Flags, banners, and placards are encouraged. Dress in costume. Create awareness of the imporance of the 19th Amendment. Register to vote!
