Vigil to End the Occupation of Iraq
Declaration of Peace in Los Angeles
WHEN:
Tuesday, September 18th, 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM
WHERE: Hill Street & 5th Street
Los Angeles, CA
President Bush will be asking for more funds to be authorized for the US
occupation of Iraq.
The American Friends Service Committee will "Vigil to End the Occupation
of Iraq". We will mourn the escalating Iraqi casualties and call for
American troop withdrawal. There have been more than 3,700 US casualties
and more than 650,000 Iraqi Civilian casualties.
We must insist that the US not go further down the path that was pursued
in Vietnam and instead immediately end the occupation of Iraq and remove
all troops from that country.
To spread this message we will vigil at the corner of 5th and Hill
Streets in Downtown Los Angeles in support of the Declaration of Peace.
