It is with great sadness I relate this huge loss: Subversity has learned some tragic and sad news. According to the Long Beach police department, former UCI English & Comparative Literature and African American Studies Director Prof. Lindon Barrett has been found murdered at his residence in Long Beach. At the time of his death, Prof. Barrett was Professor of English at UC Riverside. His body was found Sunday (July 13) and police believe he had been dead a few days.
A suspect, Marlon Martinez who was found near Prof. Barrett's missing car, has been arrested and has been booked for the murder.
