From the November issue of Change-Llinks:
There's An Election?
John Johnson
There seems to be something that's called an "election" taking
place. I'm not really sure what we are electing. It doesn't seem we
are electing those that actually have the power. More like people
that are spokes persons (or spokes models), representing those that
actually make the real decisions.
It also seems a bit like the old Miss America pageants where
the winners seem to have an edge if they had sex with the judges.
Though with Miss Paline, it seems a bit closer to reality.
Of course Dennis Kucinich, who had the best program and
solutions among the Democratic contenders was pretty much ruled
unacceptable because as he said, "do you want health care or a tall President."
As we go to press Obama has a 5 to 10 point lead. More
than likely the Bush administration (and his bosses) will try to come
up with a last minute attack or surprise against him. But he should
win and if he doesn't the reason will be vote fixing. From the
disqualification of voters in places like Colorado, to just fixing
voting machines which has already occurred in Florida.
I would suggest that if that does happen, the streets of
this country should be full of folks, demanding an immediate recount
(at least).
And if Obama wins. A great sigh will be heard around
the world. Some aspect of the new world we envisioned since the
Sixties will come into some light.
But the day after, we should immediately mount campaigns
to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Help rebuild both
countries, with no more killing and occupation.
Press for single payer universal health care. Demand
that the so-called "bail-out" be used to bail out working people and
the poor. The coming depression can be averted if resources are
immediate directed to them, (not the bastards that caused it).
And of course press for the criminal indictments of
(most of) the Bush Administration.
Then we move onto 'participatory democracy" where
everyone gets to participate in the decisions, social, political,
economic, that affects their lives. So there is no need for trillion
dollar campaigns to sell us candidates to rule over us.

the most disgusting, lying campaign. Maybe next year we should put

marriages in California because we don't want marriage polluted by
their agendas of pedophilia and polygamy.

this time in getting bail.
