Comité Central Unión del Barrio Concientización • Organización • Acción • Liberación www.uniondelbarrio.org ----------------ENGLISH-------------- San Diego, CA Occupied Mexico, December 10, 2008- International Human Rights Day- On the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Unión del Barrio and the Raza Rights Coalition extends this message of solidarity to the peoples of the world who struggle for Justice, Peace and Dignity. >From the open wound of Nuestra América- the US Border with México- Unión del >Barrio would like to share our struggle for the defense of our Human Rights, >that this year culminated in a Silent March in opposition to the further >expansion and construction of the Wall of Death. We invite you to view our activity at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stgzi0l9IgA In the same way that we struggle against injustice here, we unite our voice with the millions of people the world over that fight for justice and self-determination for all people on this earth and for the progress of all of humanity as a whole. >From this corner of the world we say ¡Ya Basta! (enough) to the continued acts >of aggression that perturb the human conscience. This is why we denounce the >genocidal wars of occupation against the people of Iraq and Afghanistan and >demand the immediate withdrawal of U.S. Occupation forces from these >countries; We stand in support of the sovereignty of all people’s and demand that the U.S. torture camps in Guantanamo Bay Cuba be closed and all U.S. military personnel leave Cuba. Additionally we repudiate the criminal and genocidal economic embargo against the Cuban people, and demand the immediate release of the 5 Cuban Anti-Terrorists currently incarcerated in U.S. Jails; We defend the rights of the Palestinian people to live in Peace with Justice and Liberation from the genocidal apartheid Israeli state, we demand an end to the genocidal war against the Palestinian people and call for an end to the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands which includes the abolishment of the Israeli Border wall. As we struggle here on this continent to unify Nuestra America, we extend our support and solidarity to all progressive and revolutionary forces in Africa who struggle against the illegal borders imposed on their continent by European colonialism centuries ago, but who continue to struggle to see Africa and her people free. This is why we oppose the military plan of the United States government known as AFRICOM as we know that this is part of a strategy that will continue to deny the right of Africans to access their natural resources and eventually will lead to continued oppression. For this reason we reaffirm our struggle for Self-Determination, National Liberation and the Reunification of Nuestra América under a more just economic system. We invite all progressive forces to join us in our struggle to build the necessary social movement that will lead us to the protection of Human=2 0Rights for everyone.
