The Palestine Right to Return Coalition's Al-Awda chapters in Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego, together with many other organizations and coalitions, strongly urge and call on all our members and supporters across Southern California to join the LET GAZA LIVE! Regional Mass March & Rally this Saturday, January 10, 2009 12 noon at the Westwood Federal Building 11000 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles. This protest is part of the Day of Emergency Mass Action for Gaza taking place in this country and around the world. Come out and demand an immediate end to the carnage that is being carried out by the 'Israeli' military against the people of the Gaza Strip. The entire world is watching with horror and outrage as Israel, backed by the US administration, has unleashed a full-scale invasion of the besieged Gaza Strip. Thousands of US-armed israeli troops, tanks, artillery, and bulldozers have invaded Gaza while the indiscriminate and horrific bombing of civilian targets including schools, mosques, police stations, and hospitals via air, sea, and land has continued. These murderous attacks in the last thirteen days have resulted in the death of over 800 men women and children and more than 4000 have been injured, many with permanent disabilities. The Gaza Strip is the most densely populated place on this planet with more than 6000 people living per square kilometer, most in desperate poverty, in an area representing 1% of the total land of Palestine. It is home to 1.5 million Palestinians of whom 1.1 million are refugees denied by the Zionist State of 'Israel" their right to return to their homes and lands of origin in areas that were occupied by the invading Zionists in 1948. We can not stay silent while Israel is committing genocide against our people and while the US Administration provides it with political, economic and military support. We must stand up in support of our heroic people and their resistance against the Zionist invaders.
