*We are changing internationalism, that is the hallmark of revolution, by a petty bourgeois nationalism which does not represent the expectations of society."* Alberto Muller Rojas
Former close Chavez adviser Muller dies (AP) 10 hours ago CARACAS, Venezuela Alberto Muller Rojas, once a close adviser to President Hugo Chavez who recently distanced himself from the Venezuelan leader's socialist party, has died. He was 75. The retired general's family announced his death Saturday in a statement, without giving details. Muller had health problems for years, which had worsened recently. Chavez mourned Muller's death on Twitter and expressed his admiration for a colleague who for many years was a prominent ideologue in the president's socialist movement. In March, Muller had left the party saying he was disillusioned with the direction of the "revolutionary process." Muller retired from active military duty in 1985, and in the following years was a governor and senator. He was Chavez's campaign manager for his first elected in 1998 and was seen, especially in the early years of the administration, as an ideologically committed adviser who had Chavez's ear. In 2005, Chavez brought Muller back into the army to join a group of senior officers working with the president's office. Muller and Chavez appeared to maintain an affection for each other in recent years even as the former general had differences with Chavez and his party. Chavez has said he valued Muller's criticism. When the president removed Muller from his post as a military adviser in 2007, Muller said he was sure it was under pressure from crooked generals who wanted him out. The two later smoothed over that episode and Muller became active as a vice president of Chavez's socialist party. When he left the party in March, he said in an interview with the Venezuelan newspaper Panorama that "it's rare that the president listens to me." -------------------------+ Müller Rojas withdraws and says the process is pésimoAsegura he has not spoken with Chavez as the year goes 2010Müller Rojas PSUVEl former vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) Alberto Müller Rojas announced his retirement because tired of "seeing more of the same" in the Venezuelan political arena. In an interview published by the newspaper Panorama, Müller Rojas said that "the revolutionary process is lousy (...) is rare after the President hears me." While he says he has not spoken with President Chavez. "I would say that since last year does not speak." When asked about how to assess the revolutionary process in recent months, former vice president said that the PSUV is dreadful, because in his opinion all that is happening is not healthy for the revolutionary process. "*We are changing internationalism, that is the hallmark of revolution, by a petty bourgeois nationalism which does not represent the expectations of society."* Around the separation of the PSUV and the PPT, Muller Rojas says he never considered such a patriotic alliance. "An alliance must be proportionate to what is provided. They (the PPT) have had a claim to equal the PSUV which has 32% of the electorate, they have 0.2% of the electorate. That is the type of partnership that they wanted and that well the business until I replaced by a more flexible man who accepted it. " During the interview he was asked if there are many bourgeois in the PSUV, to which the general replied: "Yes there because its way of life is demonstrated. With regard to PPT, Müller Rojas said that they ceased to be revolutionary years. "Those who were revolutionaries in the PPT we joined the PSUV. They only want money, tickets, billullos real. Regarding the case of Henri Falcon, the general says to the regional elections of 2008 never believed in the candidate who had the support of two parties. I never saw them as members of the PSUV, because in his view is absurd that a person belonging to a political organization has another parallel to support it.
