This gives us something to promote online as well as helping keep Bradley's situation in people's minds. I will also turn this and the letter writing campaign to the commanding officer at Quantico, included in David House's Firedoglake article about Bradley's condition http://my.firedoglake.com/blog/2010/12/23/bradley-manning-speaks-about-his-conditions/ into a Codepink Action Alert to go out to the Bay Area Codepink list of 500-600 people; I'll send the alert to Stephania shortly and copy you all so that you can send it out to your lists as well if you wish. Cynthia Papermaster Call to Stop the Inhumane Treatment of Bradley Manning Call Quantico Public Affairs: 703-432-0289. At that # there is a voicemail. Please leave a brief, polite message requesting that Bradley Manning's captive conditions be improved. Specifically, ask that Quantico "Lift the unnecessary 'Prevention of Injury' (POI) order that severely restricts Bradley's social contact, news consumption, ability to exercise, and that places restrictions on his ability to sleep. Manning has been living under the solitary restrictions of POI for five months. Manning is held in "maximum custody," the military's most severe detention policy. This will have the effect of letting the folks at Quantico who are watching Manning know that we are watching them. If Bradley reports that no improvements have been made next time he speaks to the press (David House of FireDogLake just interviewed him), then we keep calling until it does have an effect. Lots of people are already calling in. There is an 19,000 person group -- Save Bradley -- on Facebook; folks over there are passing the number around and encouraging each other to call in.
