Left"

The film gives the story of RAC-LA's origins in the aftermath of the police
riot in MacArthur Park on May Day 2007.

It was the 2nd march of the day and at the gathering point at 3rd and Vermont
the already arrayed pigs were spoiling for a fight. Any little thing (e.g.
step off the side-walk) was greeted (bad word) w a glower or a bark of an order
or a chuck or thrust back onto the sidewalk--by pig haunches holding pig's
truncheons--or some combination of all three. The cops were prepped, prepared
and poised for a fight and when it got no reason--from the paperless migrants
marching peacefully to assert their human rights--it made up one...or two or
many lies that were snapped up by the media and used by opportunist mmebers of
NGO to seperate themselves from the crowd's defenders, portraying itself as
the 'responsible representative'. It was the modern-day brown equivalent of
the old "Good Negro, Bad Nigger Syndrome" (Think Floyd Patterson and Muhammad
Ali; or, MLK and Malcolm X") "It was the anarchists who started the shit!!!"
they yelled when all we and the members of the anarchistic crowd
(self-activated defenders) tried to protect ourselves, and the children too
small to fight.

Resistance must be given whenever the state attacks us. Resist! Even if all
you can do is spit. If the state intimidates the revolution with just the
threat of its violence, then the revolution is dead; if the state does not
intimidate us even with its use of un-matched violence then the revoltion
emerges stronger than it was before the battle it has just lost.

JAI
