Press Conference, Los Angeles, CA
California Assemblyman Tim Donnelly and Arizona State Senator Russell
Pearce to bring Arizona's SB1070-like law to California. The Southern
California Immigration Coalition will hold a Press Conference to
denounce this latest attack on our community.
Monday, April 4, 2011 6:00A.M.

Assembly Bill 26, the "Secure Immigration Enforcement Act."
The SCIC's demands include an immediate end to the Immigration and
Customs Enforcement Raids, FULL legalization for ALL undocumented
immigrants, no to ALL Guest Worker Programs and an immediate end to
the 30-day car impound of undocumented drivers.
The Statewide Conference objectives will be:
1) To inform the public about this new racist legislative effort in
California.
2) To denounce this "copy-cat" legislation as racist, xenophobic and
that it promotes hate.
3) To announce this year's official May 1st march in Los Angeles set
for 10AM on Sunday, May 1, 2011, starting at Olympic and Broadway.

California Legislature
TIM DONNELLY
Assembly Member, 59th District
MEDIA ADVISORY: Rally and Press Conference on Arizona-Style
Law to be held at the State Capitol
WHAT:
Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, of Twin Peaks, will host a rally and press
conference regarding Assembly Bill 26, the "Secure Immigration
Enforcement Act."
Special guest, Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce, who was
instrumental in passing the Senate Bill 1070 in Arizona, will be
speaking at the rally.
WHEN:
Monday, April 4, 2011
2 p.m.
WHERE:
California State Capitol; North Steps
Sacramento, CA
BACKGROUND:
Assembly Bill 26 would help law enforcement manage illegal
immigration in the State and fulfills Assemblyman Donnelly's campaign
pledge to introduce a bill similar to the Arizona immigration law, in
California.
This measure would, among other things, end sanctuary cities and
enforce immigration laws against employers who knowingly hire illegal
aliens, which will free up jobs for citizens and eliminate incentives
for people to come here illegally. Additionally, this measure will
make illegal presence in California punishable by a misdemeanor, and
increase the penalty for criminals that traffic illegal immigrants
into California for the purposes of sexual slavery to life in prison.
