I have indicated that his services were performed OUTSIDE his regular job (one of the criteria for nomination). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_Manning In nominating him, my own explanation for why he deserves recognition is as follows: "Bradley Manning has shown exceptional courage and fortitude in exposing the crimes of the US government. Far from being tortured and sentenced to life imprisonment, he should be honored for upholding the ideals of the American republic, ideals which our Founding Fathers, who resisted British tyranny at the risk of their own lives, would have understood."
