You did nothing wrong - the problem is that the labs project uses the
standard permission scheme which means that we have to manually add the
relevant project roles; I did that now

Thanks for being optimistic about my workload :-)
In particular, I created these JIRAs as starting points for possible new
contributors. So I'd like to unassign them to signal that they need
someone to deal with them. Later, I'll pick up one by one as I find the
time, if nobody else does.
I also plan to do a package-by-package introduction over the course of
the next weeks.
