Fellow researchers,
sometime back in August we had a discussion about if/how lab code can be
released elsewhere.
This is the board feedback from its Dec 2010 meeting:

Labs has asked the board to comment on whether it is permitted for code
from a Lab project to be released with no endorsement by the ASF?
The consensus is that it's ok as long as the license and branding
requirements are met. What we don't want is for the ASF to lose rights
to names of lab projects if the code is distributed and then comes into
the incubator.
