+1 from me. However not binding because not on Labs PMC. Sorry that you have been caught up in the middle of this. Review the mail archives. Between the last Lab Request and yours, the project started to discuss further simplifications to the process. It used to be very easy to start a lab, with enthusiastic yea. So the traditional voting thing worked with no delays. I suggest letting it run for longer. It should work itself out.
