Prudential Insurance to shift 1,000 jobs to India
Russians, Indians, Mexicans, Chinese, Poles, you name it... Are all willing to do the same work for about quarter of the pay an American would ask. Would *you* be willing to pay two-three times as much (the broker needs his cut <g>) for your rocket trip to Mars (or anything else) as you're paying now?
Long, long, ago... WalMart used to make a big deal about selling only American-made products. They've -- quietly, this time -- abandoned that practice; most of my WalMart "couture" is made in exotic countries, some of which I have trouble finding on the map... It erodes US economy, sure. But, since "Made in USA" (with pride or without) tag does not guarantee better quality, then price consideration rules -- not only for the sellers, but for the buyers as well. It's like prostitution -- if there were no customers, it would have died out long ago. Instead, it's the "oldest profession", despite various legal and social "dams"...
