Hi Tamara,

You must have been chatting with my Better Half! I fell over in the
street some time ago - I maintain it was a combination of too-high heels,
and slippery wet cobbles - and as my Dearly Beloved helped me up, a lady
came up and said "Oh dear - is she all right, she really did go down with a
thump!" To which, He Who Should be Obeyed said "Oh - don't worry - she's
always like this when she's had a few!" At which, the kindly lady backed
off at a rate of knots. If I hadn't severely grazed both knees, I think
I'd have kicked him.

But the even funnier (?) thing was, I thought, as we were in Pembroke, in
West Wales, the opposite side of the country to where I live now, and where
I only know one or two people, that my falling over wouldn't be noted by
anyone who knew me. But - would you believe, another lady stepped forward
and said "I know you - you were Carol Something - the Circle Chairman,
weren't you!" I knew just what is meant when they say Fame (Infamy ?) is a
Two-Edged Sword, believe me!

Carol - with a lumpy head, but no headache now!
