Dear List, I'm working on lace for a garter for my nephew's wonderful bride-to-be, Jessica. I would like to make it a surprise, but I'm having a difficult time trying to decide how big around to make it. I've been racking my brain to come up with a friend or neighbor about the right size, but almost everyone I know is middle aged like me, and many, many years away from the shape of a twenty four year old.
Jessica is about 5'3" with a medium build, and probably weighs about 125 pounds. If you're about that size I would greatly appreciate knowing the measurement of your leg just above the knee. Please help...my next option is to accost young women on the street with a tape measure.
