And next door to both is Piddletown - and all three of them were originally
named "Puddle........whatever", but the local councils - whether county or
parish, I don't know - decided that Piddle was far more up-market than
Puddle!    It is the tone where the Puddletown Martyrs came from, and so for
a small place, *very* famous in its own way!

There is a town called "Lacy Green" near Princes Risborough in
Buckinghamshire.

In Dorset there are two villages called "Piddlehinton" and
"Piddletrenthide"!
