Thank you to everyone who helped me with this situation. I have learned there are two types of firewalls: hardware (routers) and software (Norton and XP) I am told hardware is more dependable than software firewalls. ( I know two people who have had Norton spontaneously disable.) Because of the spontaneous issue, I have elected to install a router and activate XP's firewall. I am told I do not need both, but I am paranoid. I also have installed the new 2004 Norton antivirus. Hopefully my e-mails will be sent faster then the e-mails using Norton's firewall. (I considered placing a bobbin lace pillow by the computer -I figured a simple baby edging would add up fast to yardage. Last year I tatted 7 yards of lace waiting for kids and using those wasted minutes. Yikes!!! That *is* a lot of wasted time!!) On a frustrating note-this is the second time I have typed this-my computer shut down it's wireless connection. Well, here goes. Debra Jenny Green Bay, Wisconsin USA Beautiful fall day sunny and 61F
