Of course, medical staff in the UK certainly don't do it for the money - they'd get paid about the same working on a supermarket checkout. All the medical staff from the consultants to the health care assistants were so patient and obviousy caring. Not having single rooms in our hospitals, we probably see more of what they do and how they work. They couldn't possibly do it if they weren't dedicated.
