Talking about winning! My husband took early retirement several years ago, and I started fulltime temping almost immediately afterwards.
So - I never ever have to fill or empty the dishwasher, as John does all that. But, one evening, obviously feeling helpful and kind-hearted, I filled the dishwasher, put in the little block of soapy stuff, and turned it on. The following morning I opened the dishwasher, and thought 'My goodness - the little silver ball in the middle of the soap tablet didn't dissolve.' and promptly threw it away. It was only a week or so later when I actually looked at the packet containing said soap tablets, and realised that I had probably used - and thrown away - the silver prizewinning tablet. The wretched thing was worth, I think, £5,000.00! Just think how many bobbins, threads, patterns and *stuff* I could have bought with that. Needless to say, I am not allowed anywhere near the dishwasher - ever - but I have to admit, I have no intentions of going anywhere near it, either.
