There have been problems with AOL and Freeserve as well. AOL bounced emails
from Freeserve as spam. Apparently the problem was that if you send emails
to multiple addresses AOL's filter picks it up as spam, plus certain words.
Having decided that some emails from Freeserve was spam (rightly or
wrongly), it filtered them. To start with we got messages saying that there
was a lot of spam through our ISP, so they were blocking it all. Then there
was silence but emails weren't being delivered to people we contacted with
AOL addresses.

It's caused some problems for ebay sellers with Freeserve as their ISP, if
the buyer was on AOL. They couldn't contact the buyer. Also true if the
buyer was on Freeserve and the seller on AOL. I got round it by going
through ebay eg through 'Ask the seller a question'.
