There's an eBay auction titled "Nottingham Lacemaker". What is it? It's a book called "Before Grey Rabbit". So -- if anyone is looking for this book, search under Nottingham. <G> It was evidently published in Nottingham, thus the title reference.
My copy (New Edition first published 1994) sez it was published in Boston Spa, West Yorkshire (Elviston Press, and: "Companion booklet to 'Making Lace with Little Grey Rabbit' by the same auuthor. Who's Dortothy K. Cox)
Not a "book"; a "booklet"; it's 24 printed pages, A-4 folded in half, with "Basic Equipment and First Stitches in Bobbin Lace" as a subtitle. The bare bones of Torchon, illustrated by a couple of patterns (none especially exciting). I think both Cox booklets were inspired by Utley's (?) "Little Grey Rabbit Makes Lace" (which I don't have, but would like to. And which also was -- apparently -- one of a *series* of booklets on "Little Grey Rabbit". Possibly cashing in on the Beatrix Potter trend?)
My (paperback) copy has $6.95 pencilled on it; I bought it -- some 4-5 yrs ago, I think -- from Lacy Susan...
