We bought a really nifty gadget from one of those hawkers in the mall. It consists of two heavy plastic pieces with sponge insert on one and squeegee (sp?) on the other and rather large magnets on both. The idea is to put the squeegee one (with string attached) on the outside window, put the other piece that has soap and water on the sponge on the inside, then shut the window. The magnets keep the two pieces together so that as you move the one on the inside the other follows. Reverse the two and you can wash the outside window as well. The string caught in the window is just in case the outside one disconnects. Works a charm.
