Up until the age of 18 I still hand my gloves on a string because I used to
loose them (still do) and this wasn't because my mother made me do it!

Anyway, this all stopped on the one day I decided to make a dramatic exit
from the house on the one occassion that I had a row with my grandmother and
parents.

I flounced out of the house wearing one glove and putting on the other.

As I shut the front door I caught the glove I was putting on, in the door,
along with the string.

I was therefore hoisted on the door lock with the glove shut in the door, the
string caught, the door locked and only about 18" of string between my right
arm and my left arm - so hands in the air and me trying to knock on the door
with my head to be freed.

We removed the string that evening and I now just buy lots of pairs of
gloves.
