Hi Everyone,

I have been finding this discussion of guild newsletters very interesting as a
former Newsletter editor. Before one decides what to do, you should also check
the privacy laws in your home country. Here in Canada one is no longer allowed
to share personal information outside the group to which it is intended. So we
would not be able to post a guild newsletter with names, addresses and phone
numbers of the executive. Many of the groups I belong to have moved this type
of information inside a "members only" yes, password locked for this reason. I
know that in the U.S. something changed in the past 5 years but I do not think
it is as restrictive as we have here. It also effects our being able to hand
out newsletters at fairs or shows. Articles or sample information is fine.

Just a few thoughts for people to be thinking about. The web is considered
public space even if it is your website.
