You are forgetting that everyone who takes a job at the new plant will be earning more money than he was earning at the job he quit in order to take the new job. This means that he will be buying more stuff. Though he won't be buying a lot of stuff by American Disposable Standard, a very large number of people who each have a smidgeon more than the minimum for survival constitute a pretty good market. Which will benefit even those who don't take the new jobs, or move into the vacated old jobs, because there will be stuff to buy when you do scrape a few extra pennies together.
