You missed u/o (with a slash).  I'm only counting that and your first two, 
since there are easy rules for the other three.  The only thing I remember
having to actually memorize in school as far as spelling goes is these three.

Yep.  And there's a bunch of other minor things, depending a lot on how
clearly you pronounce things.
