Might very well, but not those which you can buy in the States, I suspect. Those would only work for American appliances which are taken to other countries. But I wouldn't bother; unless those thigs have improved *vastly* in the past 20 years, they're more pain than they're worth. Mine (which I took to England then) made a lot of noise, heated up badly, delivered only about half the power and gave up the ghost in 4 weeks (we were in Oxford for 5 months).

Batteries, OTOH, are the same here as there, and they can buy them anywhere.
