<VBG> Once-a-year, always-same-date renewal is what IOLI *used to* have; they switched to the 4-times-a-year ("magazine" rather than "guild-membership" style) only a year or so ago. With the guild-membership type of subscription, if you happen to join the organization close to the end of its subscription year, you get 4 issues, of which 3 are way out of date and may not be of interest. And, to rub the salt into the wounds... as soon as you get your first *current* issue, you also get a renewal slip for the new year. At which point, you may be so disenchanted with the scam, you toss the renewal form into the nearest trash can (or into your paper-recycle bag).

Most of the IOLI "old timers" still have their renewal date at the same time as they've always had it -- June/August. But the "new arrivals" vary; their subscription starts with the nearest *current* issue.
