You are correct, but there is also a 'gentleman's agreement' to tread carefully in areas such as politics because it causes ill feeling on the lace-chat list.
Please, everyone, pull your claws in and try to exercise some tact and sensitivity. We know that there are different political views represented on both lace and lace-chat. A joke that could be interpreted as a kick in the teeth to someone else isn't really appropriate on this list.
