I just wanted to add a note to my recipe.  I always put the dried fruits in a 
pan with water and bring them to a boil.  Turn off the heat and let them sit 
for awhile....while I'm getting out and measuring all my other stuff.  Drain 
well before adding to the batter.  This makes the fruits soft and plumped up.

Talking about this reminded me that I want to make something for the church 
bazaar next week, and these cakes would be the perfect thing since I have to 
make them several days before the sale.  So, next Tuesday I'll be baking 
goodies.

Alice in Oregon ... where my driveway contractor finally called, and is coming 
to put in gravel today.  Maybe there's hope for concrete soon.
