My husband still has a toasting fork he made when an apprentice, and uses it at home on the open fire. I myself did not even know what toast was until I moved to the UK, and have never taken to it, preferring a slice of fresh wholemeal bread with butter and plenty of peanut butter topped with toasted seeds and raisins - Heaven!

Yes. my hand is up too. I still always do this when I'm camping out bush, and just like Dad did - I make the long fork myself - usually from the same wire I use to suspend the billy.
