It's been years since I carved a pumpkin. In fact, the last jack-0-lantern I
made had the face painted on. And it was taken from my front porch. I was
really annoyed because I had grown it myself and it was the only pumpkin the
plant produced. This year I have a small commercial scarecrow that I'll set
out. I got it as a door prize so if it disappears, I'll have one less thing to
store.

Anyway... I used to have 100 trick-or-treaters come to my door. In the past
few years, it's been about 40. The weather has been so nasty, and it's raining
all day today, so that may mean even fewer creatures at my door tonight. I
have treats ready and will spend the evening at home, listening for footsteps.
Sometimes I get out my witch's hat and wear it when I answer the door.

I was happy to see your message come through because it meant that Majordomo
computer still had power. I think most of the power outages are north of it's
home.

Dear fellow Arachneans,
I hope that those lacemakers celebrating Halloween today will have lots
of fun & not eat too much candy.

I am so glad that I don't have to scoop out pumpkin seeds & carve scary
faces any more.
I'd rather be making lace than carving a pumpkin face!
Pene
