My pet hate is people who put a 'k' on the end of words instead of a
'g'.
Somethink, anythink, etc. Even some of our Politicians do it. -
sheer ignorance! No wonder no-one can spell correctly!
That's pronunciation, or local dialect, but it happens in UK too.
I remember when I was a child my mother often corrected the way I
pronounced things (probably because I dropped aitches) and she used to
say "if you can't say the word properly how do you expect to be able to
spell it?".
