If the antenna was on your property, then they have to replace it.

If here was a nest in the Sycamore that was being used, then it is illegal for
them to tamper with it in any way. When we lived in Somerset, surrounded by
farmland, inspectors were always on the prowl to see that no hedge trimming or
flailing went on while birds were nesting.

>From the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development web site:

"Hedges may be trimmed or coppiced from 1 September until the end of February,
but from 1 March to 31 August, hedge cutting or coppicing is not permitted."

"Where health and safety is an issue, for example along roadside hedges, hedge
cutting is permitted between 1 March and 31 August. However it is important to
make sure that you do not disturb nesting birds if you do need to cut at this
time. Also remember that before trimming or topping a hedge, it is a good idea
to mark saplings that are suitable to grow into mature hedgerow trees, so that
cutting machinery does not damage them."

Even if it doesn't apply to mature trees, it might make them squirm a bit if
you bluff.

Report them to Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for interfering
with nesting birds. The number of birds we have is already on the decline
without morons like this making it worse.
