Yes, well, Ballarat as I seem to remember David, is always either blazing
hot or freezing cold :-)

I can only say that we've been enjoying some slightly above average temps
here around Seattle (I'm about 15 miles NE of Redmond and somewhat rural out
in Duvall). We had a cold week in December where it didn't make it to
freezing (a sheet of ice on a hill that's got a grade of somewhere between
9%-15% makes life interesting - especially for my 14 yo DS who slid his way
downhill by about 80+ feet to make it across the street to the sidewalk to
catch the bus to school. His younger and lighter sister made it across no
problems, but he went sliding/skating across). Since then it's been quite
nice, and we've had some lovely days of sunshine - especially the week of
Christmas when my IL's visited from Colorado.

It's been quite nice to sit (or bask) in the sunny sitting area in the
afternoons and work on a lace project.

Hope everyone thaws out soon, and stays safe.

Helen, in Duvall, WA
