When we moved from Denver to Seattle in 2009, we did a big house cleaning, but we still had an eclectic collection of items come along from the 'previous owners' (my IL's) :-) Not my MIL's wedding dress (we got that back to her several years prior), but there were some interesting things in the cupboards out in the garage that I didn't know about until I opened and checked and resealed boxes that didn't need to be unpacked immediately in the uncertainty of the rental house's 'financial' status.
