I have just now finished watching a very moving documentary called
"Chopin Saved My Life" which was shown on ABC TV here in Australia.
If you can possibly see this somehow, please do so.
It compares about 5 concert pianists who talk of their feelings for
Chopin's Ballade No.1.
I can't even remember the name of the young man from Glasgow whose
parents didn't even know he could play the piano because he was doing
it at school during his breaks. To survive a brain tumour and its
surgery only to then be struck down with Multiple Sclerosis and have
your right hand paralyzed! - well I'm sure I wouldn't have coped as a pianist.
