Dear Jeri,

The "great curved needle-hunt" is a story of its own!!

I met the lady who showed me how to mount the lace in South Australia - "only"
950 miles away. When I returned home, I had, as I've already said, great
trouble tracking down the needles, so I phoned her and asked if she knew where
I could buy them. She told me that she'd been given _one_ only needle in her
conservation course! Wonderful, trusting soul that she was, she offered to
post her needle to this virtually unknown person, who'd just happened to walk
into her shop where she sold linen and lace, saying that I could return it
after I'd mounted my lace.

By that time, I was so concerned that if I lost her needle, we'd both be up a
creek without a paddle, that I wouldn't risk the postal service or me losing or
damaging it, and declined her kind offer.

I think, in my search around Sydney, I must've created quite a demand for
curved needles in the sewing shops!
