Good Morning/Evening (depending on where you are in the world)
Thank you to everyone who answered my first posting to the arachne sites. You have
helped me alot! Special thanks to Tamara, Jeri, and Diana.
I was working on what I think to be torchon lace and putting my pins in after CTCT.
When I went to tension the work it, of course, pulled up on me and I would have to
stretch it back out. I was only using 30 pins in the whole work! <Groan> No wonder I
was having problems. Out to get more pins today!
I have no real teacher here near me, so I purchased the Lacis teach yourself kit. It
came with what looks like size 60 or 80 thread, but the fan design I was working on
was much to loose for this size thread (not enough knots in my opinion). I'm going to
try again with a size 20 perle cotton.
Thank you for the advice on silk. I'll patiently wait until I'm good enough to try it.

I also understand the difference now between the two groups at arachne. Not being one
to stay silent when I have an opinion <g>, here is a book I would recommend. "The
Shell Seekers" by Rosimund Pilcher. A definite summer read, tres romantique, without
being smaltzy. A good fantasy book that I reread not long ago was "The Dragonriders of
Pern".

Thanks again for the help and the warm welcome. I like it here!
