Dear Lacemakers, Thinking POSitively: It seems to me we have progressed enough in recent years that someone(s) could design a set of beautiful "Challenge Laces" that are copyright-free for lacemakers worldwide to use to measure their skills against themselves and against the skills of others. This could be goal oriented -- like the Five-Metre Club sponsored by the Canadian Lacemaker Gazette.
Any Volunteers to steer this type of project? A small committee of no more than 5 could spearhead this. An organizer, educator, designer, etc. Let's make it easy to establish and launch, and share with our lace guilds if they wish to participate. Can we all agree on something like this? Does a model already exist in some country? Please, let's get back to lace subjects about which we can do/share something constructive. Let the Channer mat debate move to Chat (as requested by our Web Master).
