I don't know about silk brand cake flour, but I can say that US cake flour is much finer than the regular flour sold in UK packets. It has the consistency of corn starch. Crisco is a vegetable shortening (fat) used in place of butter to make cakes and cookies. It has a higher melting point than butter. US cup measure is 8 fluid ounces. 4 cups makes a quart. My international cook book indicates that a liter equals 1.05 quarts Elaine Merritt The Lace Museum 552 South Murphy Avenue Sunnyvale, CA 94086 tel.
