Good morning All,
I received my first IOLI magazine this morning, with the wonderful designs from the prize winners at the recent convention. Well worth joining just for those. Many thanks and congratulations to you all. Someone said a bit ago that the Americas do not have a lace of their own, but while I know that most people there have learnt from European teachers or books, it strikes me that many of the designs I see could only have been made in America. There is just something about them which has a freedom perhaps from the strict traditional way of doing things. Keep up the good work.
I was also thrilled to see a report from the Five Lakes Bobbin Lace Club about their adventures making our Cleveland Lace Guild Cloth. Wonderful. I will take the magazine to our next Guild meeting to show everybody. It has made joining worth while in the first edition.
