"Personal chemistry" should be considered as well. My perspiration seems to be highly "corrosive" also: fabrics, finish on bobbins, metals... Anything I handle too much will disintegrate after a while. Doubtless it the same element which due to my bitchy nature makes my blood too bitter even for the mosquitos :)
