I have done some Aemilia-Ars type of lace, from patterns in an old magazine; but I couldn't be more ignorant than I am as to the history, the range of types, the particulars of individual pieces...and I imagine there are lots of lacemakers like me, who would love to know more and perhaps to see examples of the work.
