Yes, I think so too. I wonder whether the 1000 pieces are all actually *exhibited* (for any passing gawker to see), or whether they're "available" -- in drawers (as in Luton) or on pull-out boards (as in V&A) -- where you need to be interested *first*. A 1000 pieces in a permanent -- and "open" at all times-- exhibition seems like an awful lot...
