I have to admit I don't have my edging done yet either. I'm hoping to do a black silk one but haven't decided on a pattern. Maybe this discussion will get me motivated.

I sincerely hope so :)

Pauline Norris made, stuffed with her home-grown sweet-smelling lavender, and mailed out (all over the world), about a 100 pincushions. *All* on the understanding that the people who asked for them didn't do it just to increase their stash of posessions, but to "keep the ball rolling": I do this, pass on to you, you do that...

Pauline found the fabric and made the hearts. The recipients *pledged* to make the edgings. Lori (the lacefairy) offered the showcase for the results:

*and* made a bobbin to match (a pair can be seen on Sonja's heart, p.2)

I just checked. There are *14* pincushions featured on the site, *and* two of them (Alix from Luxembourg, and Iris from UK) used plain fabric (Iris embrioidered hers -- beautiful), not the "web and spider" that Pauline'd sent. So... 12, out of a 100 completed their "obligations". I do not think that, in all honour, we've "paid" Pauline all she deserves...

I'm not an "edging person" myself; even a pretty one gets boring after a while (3rd repeat on an easy one, 6th on an advanced one)... But, if you promise, you deliver, even if it's inconvenient; that's what honour is all about. Otherwise, you do not promise in the first place -- that's always an option, since lacemaking is a free world...
